Starting the Ichigo True Bankai Questline
To begin your journey toward obtaining Ichigo True Bankai in Legacy Piece, you must travel to the newly added Quincy Castle island. Locate the Zangetsu NPC, who serves as the primary quest giver for this entire chain.
Before starting, ensure your character is prepared. According to community reports, you should optimize your stat build for weapon damage before accepting the first quest. Many stages of this chain lock you into using the Zangetsu sword, and kills made with other weapons or abilities will not register for quest progress.
The Quest Stages
The unlock process is a long, multi-stage grind. You must complete these objectives in sequence while keeping the Ichigo sword equipped at all times.
1. The Old Man (Inner World Boss)
After accepting the quest, talk to Zangetsu again to enter the Inner World. You must defeat both phases of the Old Man Zangetsu boss. Note that inside this instance, other weapons and items are disabled, so your success depends entirely on your Zangetsu damage, dodging, and mobility.
2. White Mask Fragments
You need to collect five White Mask Fragments scattered across the map. Progress is saved between visits, so you do not need to collect them in one session.

3. Hollow Kills and Resonance
This is where the grind intensifies.
Hollow Kills: You must switch your race to "Hollow" and defeat 2,500 Hollows. Remember that you must be wielding the Ichigo sword for these kills to count. If you switch races, your progress will pause, but it will resume once you switch back.
Resonance: You need 100 Resonance from bosses Level 20,000 or higher. You must deal at least 10% of the boss's total health with the Ichigo sword to receive credit.
Tip
Player experience suggests farming "Extreme" difficulty bosses is the most efficient method, as they grant 4 Resonance per kill, compared to 1 for Normal, 2 for Medium, and 3 for Hard.
4. The Five Sternritters
You must summon and defeat five Sternritter bosses: As Nodt, Askin Nakk Le Vaar, Bambietta Basterbine, Gremmy Thoumeaux, and Jugram Haschwalth. To summon one, you need 20 Reishi Fragments and 50 Quincy Soldier kills. These kills reset if you change servers, so it is highly recommended to complete all five summons in a single session.
Final Materials and Unlock
Once you have completed the questline, you must gather specific materials and currency to finalize the unlock. You can obtain these by defeating the Ichigo True Bankai boss:
10 Blood of the Black Blade
10 Horn of Salvation Fragments
10 Shattered Fate Fragments
Title: "The Blade That Shatters Fate"
Currency: 500,000,000 coins
After turning these items into the Zangetsu NPC, you will unlock the Ichigo True Bankai sword.
Unlocking Blood Chain
The quest does not end with the weapon unlock. To fully maximize your potential, you must complete the Blood Chain questline. This involves eight specific objectives, all requiring the Ichigo True Bankai to be equipped:
Use Ichigo True Bankai skills 300 times.
Defeat 30 bosses of Level 25,000 or higher.
Defeat the "Self that shattered fate" three times.
Defeat Yhwach, the global boss, once.
Gather additional fragments (5 each of Blood of the Black Blade, Horn of Salvation, and Shattered Fate).
Once completed, you can use your base moves in combat to build up a 500-point gauge. Pressing 'B' will trigger the Blood Chain transformation, which grants you a completely new, more powerful moveset.
Troubleshooting Progress Issues
If you find that your quest tracker has stopped updating, check these common pitfalls:
Weapon Check: Ensure you have the Ichigo sword physically equipped. If you swapped to a different weapon, the game stops counting your kills or boss damage.
Boss Level: For Resonance, ensure the boss is Level 20,000 or higher. For the Blood Chain quest, ensure the bosses are Level 25,000 or higher.
Damage Threshold: For Resonance, if you deal less than 10% of the boss's health, you will not receive any points. Focus on bosses you can reliably damage.
Race Status: Ensure you remain in the Hollow race during the 2,500 Hollow kill objective.
